In today's rapidly evolving technological environment, electronic product development and learning is still a challenge for some electronics fans . To this end, Makerfabs is proud to introduce a brand new product, Matouch DevKit, a product based on our Matouch display that will bring a new era of ESP32 projects.

Why we chose to develop such a product?

1. ESP32 Learning Needs

The ESP32 is a low-power system-on-chip (SoC) from Espressif Systems that is widely used in Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It offers a dual-core processor, wireless connectivity, a rich set of peripheral interfaces, a low-power design, mass storage, and support for various development platforms, including Arduino and MicroPython. Additionally, it features integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, making it an ideal choice for many IoT projects and smart devices.

However, many beginners face certain difficulties in learning ESP32. We realise the strong market demand for an open source platform and hope to provide an intuitive and easy-to-use learning tool through Matouch DevKit to help makers quickly master the use of ESP32.

2. Support LVGL and SquareLine

LVGL is an open-source graphics library dedicated to the development of graphical user interfaces (GUI) for embedded devices. The library is designed to provide efficient and user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) solutions for a range of display devices, including those with limited resolution and high-resolution touchscreens. SquareLine Studio is a GUI design tool developed specifically for LVGL. It offers a visual interface design environment that facilitates the creation and editing of user interfaces for LVGL applications.

Our Matouch series products now supports LVGL and SquareLine and have an official partnership with SquareLine, which help makers can build beautiful UI in a simplified environment.

The versatility of Matouch DevKit makes it ideal for makers . Whether it is used for light strips, light boards or stepper motors, DevKit can easily cope with a variety of application scenarios and help users realise a wealth of creative ideas.

Matouch DevKit supports LVGL and SquareLine, which means that with it makers can easily build beautiful and practical user interfaces, and quickly implement various functions to shorten development time.

The unique rotating housing design enhances the overall human-machine interaction experience, smooth rotary make you easily to design the UI, more convenient for usage .

2. Versatile Functions

Matouch DevKit has a variety of expansion functions, specifically including:

  • DC Output Expansion: Provide stable DC power for electronic devices to ensure reliable project operation.
  • Light Bar Extension: Easily develop colourful lighting effects to enhance the visual appeal for your project.With it you can adjust the colour temperature according to your needs, adjust the light flashing mode such as running lights, breathing lights, and light brightness, etc.

  • Stepper Motor and DC Motor Expansion: Supports precise control of stepper motors for a variety of automation applications.

  • Brushless Motor (BLDC)Expansion: Provides users with a more efficient motor control solution, suitable for complex project requirements(Under development）.
  • AC Dimmer Expansion: Allows users to regulate AC current, suitable for lighting equipment，can be used to adjust light intensity and can be used for timed switching.
  • Relay Expansion: Used to control high voltage devices, expanding the flexibility of project functions.
  • Lighting Board Expansion: You can independently adjust the animation and brightness of the display on the light board, and choose the effect you want.

We have designed a beautiful user interface for Matouch DevKit that makes operation simple and intuitive. Users can easily find the functions they need and improve development efficiency.

 

 

4.RTC/USB power supply/power monitoring

Matouch DevKit is equipped with Real Time Clock (RTC), USB PD and power monitoring functions to ensure a stable experience and comprehensive monitoring data during use, provide users with accurate current time and date/Higher power and more flexible charging options for devices via the USB port/ Better real-time monitoring and analysis of power consumption, power quality and energy use efficiency.

5.Open Source Hardware and Software

Makerfabs always believe in the importance of the open source culture, and Matouch DevKit's hardware and software are both open source, allowing users to easily make their own changes to the hardware, and the software to be easily intercepted for use.
