As we all know , LoRaWAN is a point-to-multipoint network protocol based on Lora technology , serves as the Network layer in OSI and is an excellent choice for networks that require internet access. A router is required to manage these tasks and provide internet access. Just like a local WIFI network, LoRaWAN manages coordination, addressing, and exception handling. But, thanks to the extended range of LoRaWAN, there are public LoRaWAN routers available, eliminating the need for individual installations. The main advantages of LoRaWAN can be listed as follow :

  1. Ultra low power: LoRaWAN end devices are optimized to operate in low power mode and can last up to 10 years on a single coin cell battery.
  2. Long range : LoRaWAN gateways can transmit and receive signals over a distance of over 20 kilometers in rural areas and up to 5 kilometers in dense urban areas.
  3. High capacity  : LoRaWAN Network Servers handle millions of messages from thousands of gateways.
  4. Low cost : Minimal infrastructure, low-cost end nodes and open source software.
  5. Ecosystem : LoRaWAN has a very large ecosystem of device makers, gateway makers, antenna makers, network service providers, and application developers.

Makerfabs AgroSense LoRaWAN® Sensor is our first full range of user-grade agricultural products  benefits from LoRaWAN , which ensures stability and reliability, has capable of covering a long transmission range of 3km in urban scenes and 5km in line-of-sight scenes while keeping lower power consumption during the transmission process . Together with a replaceable battery that supports up to 1 years of usage and an industrial IP68 enclosure. It supports -40 ~ 85℃ operating temperature and can be deployed in harsh environments. With LoRaWAN® gateway, LoRaWAN® sensor report the result to LoRaWAN® networks, such as The Things Network, with simply inputting DEV EUI/ APP EUI/ APP Key. In practical application It monitors the date and report every 1 hour. 

The mainly features of AgroSense LoRaWAN® Sensors can be listed as follow :

A. Agrosense_Barometric Pressure Sensor LoRaWAN®

AgroSense LoRaWAN® Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the barometric pressure in the atmosphere at the range of 300 to 1100 hPa, -40℃ to 85℃with accuracy ±0.12 hPa and resolution 0.01 hPa respectively, also with highly waterproof performance tested to IP68, making it widely applicable in agricultural environmental sensing scenarios to support the smart agricultural production.

 

B. Agrosense_RTD PT1000 Temperature Sensor LoRaWAN®

AgroSense LoRaWAN®Industrial Temperature Sensor measures temperature in the Industrial High Temperature Environments at the range of -40℃ to 200℃ with accuracy ±0.1 ℃ and resolution ±0.4% respectively,  also with highly waterproof performance tested to IP68, making it widely applicable in industrial high temperature environments sensing scenarios (such as stove) to support the intelligent industrial production.

 

C. Agrosense_Light Intensity Sensor LoRaWAN®

AgroSense LoRaWAN® Light Intensity Sensor measures the light intensity at the range of 1 to 65535 lx, -40℃ to 85℃with accuracy ±1 lx and resolution  ±20% respectively, also with highly waterproof performance tested to IP68, making it widely applicable in agricultural environmental sensing scenarios to support the smart agricultural production.

 

D. Agrosense_Air Temperature and Humidity Sensor LoRaWAN®

AgroSense LoRaWAN® Temperature & Humility Sensor measures temperature and humidity in the atmosphere at the range of -40℃ to 85℃ and 0 to 100 %RH with accuracy ±0.2℃ and ±0.2%RH respectively, also with highly waterproof performance tested to IP68, making it widely applicable in agricultural environmental sensing scenarios to support the smart agricultural production.
