LoRaWAN is good, but sometimes you do not need LoRaWAN, or it difficult/expensive to implement a LoRaWAN network, not to mention the cloud. From example, monitoring your backyard soil humility, or monitoring the status in your farm greenhouse. Actually, Makerfabs think that in these applications, a simple LoRa P2P make the story easy/convenient.
That is why SenseLoRa, SenseLora sensors detect the soil/air status, and broadcast the result with user-set time interval, fixed data format, so the receiver can get these data and forward to any monitor with UART or stock locally in SD card, with LoRa max arrange 1~2 km, for remote monitoring/recording.
But still we got some customer feedback/requests, that they want the data to be transferred via 4G, either to a remote server or a simple SMS, that is why this SenseLoRa_4G Gateway. This Gateway is based on ESP32-S3, it has on-board LoRa receiver and a 4G module, so it get the LoRa data and then transmit the data via 4G to cloud server such as TTN, or the monitors phone with SMS.
This receiver advantage:
1. Flexible data transmission. It supports the direct transmission of data collected by LoRa to the cloud server (such as TTN) through the 4G network, which facilitates the centralized processing, analysis and storage of data.
2. Remote monitoring and real-time response. By monitoring mobile phones through SMS messages, users can obtain real-time device status information and respond to anomalies in a timely manner. This immediate feedback mechanism is essential for application scenarios that require rapid response, such as emergency alarm, environmental monitoring, etc.
This module is based on ESP32S3 controller, there on board:
Based on ESP32S3, the module can be programmed with Arduino/Platform IO, etc, also as open hardware, this module can be used as a LoRa/ WiFi/ Bluetooh/ 4G multi-platform, for any related projects.
